Osama Khan

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Aston University

Professor Osama Khan is an experienced academic leader and the next Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of South Wales. He currently serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Aston University, where he has led major institutional transformation spanning academic strategy, student success, digital learning, inclusion, governance reform, digital trasnformation of professional services, and income diversification. With more than 27 years in higher education, he has built a reputation for combining strategic clarity with a deeply student-centred approach. 

A former investment banker turned university teacher, Professor Khan holds degrees from the University of Cambridge, Lancaster University, the University of Surrey, and Independent University, Bangladesh. His career has included senior leadership roles at Solent University, the University of Surrey, and Aston University, alongside teaching at institutions including Cambridge Judge Business School, HEC Paris, the University of Hong Kong, and Copenhagen Business School.

Professor Khan is widely recognised for his work in educational transformation, digital trasnformation, equity, and student outcomes. His leadership is grounded in evidence, authenticity, and servant leadership, with a strong commitment to empowering students, colleagues, and communities through opportunity, innovation, and inclusion.
